I’m Melissa, also known as What If. This name was born from a question that has always followed me: “What would happen if?” This question is the driving force behind my creative journey, especially my exploration of AI as an artistic tool. The same curiosity led me to experiment with AI and continues to shape my path forward.
I hold multiple diplomas in Fine Arts, Photography & Photo Editing from schools in Milan, and Screenwriting from School Holden in Turin, a background that deeply influences my approach to visual storytelling. Photography has always been an essential part of my creative process, just as AI has become in recent years.
My artistic vision is rooted in a relentless pursuit of aesthetic and conceptual innovation. I draw inspiration from romanticism in all its forms, even the most unexpected ones. I am fascinated by the intersection of past and future, tradition and technology, nostalgia and modernity.
Surrealism has been a recurring theme in my work since art school. My obsession with eyes is a signature of my artistic language that I revisit and reinterpret in endless ways.
At a particularly dark moment in my life, AI became more than just a tool, it became a way to heal. It allowed me to express emotions I couldn’t put into words, becoming a form of therapy, because art is therapy.
Every day, I feel the urge to express my thoughts and bring my visions to life by fusing traditional techniques with digital tools like AI.
As I always say, I am guided by desire.
Desire to explore, to create, to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Desire to explore, to create, to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Through this interplay of emotion, technology, and artistic vision, I strive to create works that evoke both deep emotions and a sense of wonder and discovery.
